Corporate videos come in many forms, whether its senior staff talking head style, documentary style company overviews, animated strategy videos, and a whole host of other options. Gentoo came to us with the request of making a corporate video that was different to any of those. A challenge? Sure. Possible? Definitely.
After a few creative sessions and several iterations, we landed on an idea (with a little inspiration from the filming style of Shaun of the Dead).
Over three shoot days, eighteen lighting setups and our creative use of crash zooms and quick cut b-roll shots, we were on our way to the requested fun and engaging corporate video
Whilst there were many challenges in filming and editing, such as working purely in live environments with many variables or matching scenes with transition points, the basis of the video is grounded in simplicity - keeping lines simple for staff to deliver, keep editing ‘tricks’ to a minimum and overall stick to the message.
Feedback from the staff at Gentoo has been great and overall we were happy with what we produced. This video offered us a great deal of creativity, learning opportunities and we’re glad that Gentoo trusted us to deliver this project.
