We recently supported Nexus with the design of a commemorative newspaper, which was printed and handed out to people during the final week of service for the old Tyne and Wear Metro fleet.
The newspaper celebrated key events from the past 46 years, including Royal visitors, the first public Metro journey, and the evolution of liveries across the decades.
Our team retained the iconic Metro brand throughout while giving it the look of a modern newspaper. They also designed a timeline detailing the history of the Metro all the way from the Tyneside Metropolitan Railway Act 1973, which enabled the construction, to the Metrocar 4001prototype being donated to Stephenson Railway Museum in 2025.
Many of our team grew up in the Tyne and Wear region and are regular Metro passengers, so this was a really special project to work on.
