Celebrating World Radio Day!
First observed on 13th February 2012, World Radio Day commemorates the creation of United Nations Radio in 1946 and is held annually to recognise radio as a medium for celebrating humanity, sharing information and connecting diverse communities around the world.
Despite the rise of other digital platforms, radio is still incredibly popular and relevant. Figures from Ofcom show that almost 90% of people in the UK listen to the radio at least once a week. This continued popularity makes it an efficient way to reach audiences on a regional, national and global level.
Radio has been a key part of many campaigns we have written and directed over the years and can be a great way to add personality to a brand and grab people's attention. While supporting clients with their radio campaigns, as well as doing some voiceovers in-house, we’ve had the pleasure of working with local heroes such as Chelsea Halfpenny for Gateshead College, Ray Spencer for Nexus, Katherine Kelly for Lookers, and Kris Marshall for Gentoo Homes as well as national treasures like Jane McDonald.
