Our Media Manager, Ian, recently celebrated his eleventh work-iversary at The Works. Around the office, Ian is affectionately known as “The Coffee Guy” and for the time he attempted to ride the Rodeo Camel at a Christmas party! We caught up with him to see how he’s found the last 11 years:
How have you found your time at The Works so far?
A blast! It’s a lovely place to work, and in a lovely location. Plus, it’s only 7 minutes from home!
What do you like about working here?
I’ve worked in both large and small companies, and I’ve always preferred working for a smaller business, as I’m able to see and feel the difference I can make. At The Works specifically, I get an ideal mix of working in a team but also working independently. In my position, I feel lucky to have a large degree of control over the work I do, which means I get to advise clients on the best approach to a campaign based on their media requirements.
Are there any standout moments or projects for you?
No matter what I have achieved professionally in the past or will in the future, I will forever be remembered for the Rodeo Camel incident at the Christmas party – I jumped on, full of confidence, and slid right off the other side…I do like to entertain my colleagues! I was also proud to have been promoted to Office DJ, despite knowing absolutely nothing about music!
