When Lookers came to us with the brief for this year’s Big Event campaign, it included a TV advert aimed at highlighting their offer and bringing footfall to their dealerships across the UK. Our videographer, Andy, told us a bit about the project and how the advert came together:
Could you tell us a little bit about the project?
“The project was to create a TV advert and supporting media to promote the Looker’s Big Event for 2024/25. The concept was to show a couple who are considering buying a car out for a drive and realising that the road and street signs are all pointing them to the Lookers dealership to check out the Big Event.”
What was the aim of this project for the client?
“Ultimately, the client wants to drive traffic (no pun intended) to their website and dealerships for customers to buy cars. For that to happen there needs to be a well-executed idea that is fun, eye catching and grabs potential customers' attention.
“As with any retailer, the goal is to sell as many units of their product as possible whilst ensuring any messaging follows required legal guidelines.”
How did the project come together?
“My approach was to first consider how equipped we were to complete the project, discover if there were any gaps, then fill those gaps if required.
“The project followed a 5-step production process: planning, pre-production, production, post-production and distribution. At each stage we had meetings to determine our status ensuring we were on track to hit the client’s deadlines and staying within the project scope.”
Did the project achieve what you set out to do?
“In terms of the production, we absolutely achieved what we set out to do. We created a national TV advert and social collateral on deadline, and on budget. It was a great experience to be part of and I’m really happy with how it turned out!”
What do you think is the most important thing to consider when taking on a project like this?
“Project scope, teamwork and communication are key! There are a lot of components that make up a campaign like this, and it’s important that we work closely as a team and communicate clearly and regularly.”
