Account Manager, Neil, recently celebrated his third work-iversary at The Works. Since joining us, Neil has established himself as the office expert on the Beatles and even starred in a TV ad for our client, Lookers. We had a chat with Neil to see how he’s found the last three years:

How have you found your time at The Works so far?

“I was 47 when I joined, and it is a much more vibrant workplace than where I’d worked previously. Everyone is very welcoming, and I settled in with no problem, seemingly you can teach an old dog new tricks. It’s a constant learning curve keeping up with new technologies, client rebrands, better ways of working – it really keeps you on your toes. I said from the start that I wanted a job where I feel I “belong”, and that’s definitely what it turned out to be. It’s not easy, but things that are easy aren’t usually satisfying. Coming here each day certainly is.”

What do you like about working here?

“The people, definitely. Within the business itself, and the clients that we work for. It’s also a really gratifying place to work. There’s always something interesting going on, always something to learn, and the results we get for clients are always nice to see, and properly celebrated.”

Are there any standout moments or projects for you?

“Some of the clever animations and videos we’ve done with NICRE and Newcastle University have been really great. Helping out Lookers by having a very small part in one of their TV ads was pretty unusual and a lot of fun. To be honest, it’s more a cumulative effect of the volume of stuff we get through that gives me the most satisfaction.”
